The other new guitar, antique MSA

Post by Lane Gray »

It's one of the old BMI-style crossbar MSAs, serial number 10018 (EDIT to add: MSA says this guitar was built in 1970 by and for Bud Carter)

It's an S12, with three pedals hooked up and three knees, not hooked up. Judging from the additional parts in the case, I'm guessing it was originally a universal because there is the stuff for four more pedals. I'm going to give it my Extended E9th copedent, hopefully 5&5 if I can figure out how to add a vertical, which shouldn't be too difficult

The changer looks a little funky, but I'm betting I get it figured out.

2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)
More amps than guitars, and not many effects

That's a cool one! A ZB style S12U would certainly look crowded under the hood!
Sierra Session S12U, Carter Starter, USA Little Buddy, Austin dobro, B/G Bender Telecaster, '75 Twin Reverb, '75 Super Reverb 1x15

I'm thinking just getting to 5&5 will be crowded

According to Scott at MSA, some guy named Carter walked into the factory and built himself a guitar.
