National Tricone Repair

Post by Eric Dahlhoff »

I sent my 1927 Tricone to National ResoPhonic to have a dent repaired.
This is an oldie with hand soldered grills.
They told me that they would do what they could.
But because of the location, to REALLY fix it they would need to remove the fret-board and unsolder the entire front of the guitar, in order to reach the dent. :whoa: :? :\
We talked it over and agreed that the least invasive repair would be the best, so they did what they could.
The results are amazing!!!

They also gave it a good buffing and new nut and saddle. It plays perfectly and looks and sounds like a million bucks!
Ready for the next 100 years :D

The people at NRP really care about the legacy of these old guitars.

Happy Holidays to all of you!

Wow! Beautiful repair, and worth whatever it cost on an otherwise pretty pristine looking, and fairly rare specimen. Not a lot of those hand soldered grills out there. Luckily for me, I really like all the dents in my '28 tricone. :)

Very nice! I just live with the dents in my Nationals, occasionally adding to them🥴

Oh, there are still a bunch of dings here & there!
I just wanted the big one gone.
I was really amazed that they were able to restore the shine to the nickle plating.
